Boundaries. They’re funny things.
I had a really interesting discussion with someone yesterday about boundaries. She asked what I thought of them.
I was a bit confused.
I said, “I don’t really understand. What are boundaries?”
And then it clicked.
You see, I had just been telling her about my ultra running pursuits, and how I wanted to see if I could run far enough to start hallucinating. I wanted to see how far I could push myself. I wanted to take myself to the edge.
And then I got injured.
So went from extreme endurance to extreme strength.
I took up power lifting. I wanted to get to elite level. I wanted to see how far I could go. Could I compete in the Commonwealth Championships? I got to C grade. Then I got preggers and had to stop.
And now… With toddler in tow I am unable to push my physical self.
So I push my mental self.
I expand my mind. How far can I go?
Now I know there are no boundaries. There are no limits. Nothing is impossible.
I know from my sports that the difference between winning and losing is all in the head.
I know that if you’ve got the technique right, then all you have to do is create a physical manifestation of what’s in your head.
It’s ALL in your head.
I suppose you could also relate this to business. To relationships. To your health. To your life.
Wow… Powerful stuff right there!
Sit with it a moment and see what comes up for you 🙂
I love exploring this stuff…
