Living in the land of love and light is cute and all, but it’s so one dimensional. Two dimensional at a pinch.
It is in The Dark where you find the magic. It is in The Dark where you find a rich complexity not even possible in the light. It is in The Dark where creation is born, and it is here we can set ourselves free as the weird, wild, and wired, folk we are. It is in The Dark where we really get to experience the deeper layers of humanity and the cosmos at large.
Like a top shelf perfume with many high, mid, and low notes, the dark has a wide range to explore. Like a symphony with many instruments from piccolo to double bass, the frequencies found in the dark are lush, rich, and wide. Like our Earth itself with its highest clouds to its deepest oceans, there is a depth of wonder to explore.
Although it is uncomfortable at times, or at least awkward by society’s expectations, this is where I choose to walk, because I know the rich complexities that make up the layers within are far greater that anything found on the surface.
I am not content with the pleasant blandness expected by and imposed upon by society. This blandness is deafening. It is deadening. It murders my very essence.
I require meaning, depth, a broadness of wisdom, with layers of meaning, and the rich shades of colour found in the shadows. This is what fuels my soul. This is what stops me from dying.
Falling into The Dark is what prevents us falling to death.
